FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance should I book a fitting?
Book your fitting as soon as possible, even if your dress is being ordered. We can get the first fitting appointment scheduled for when it arrives. It’s better to prepare and schedule early to ensure that Katie has the time and space available.
What should I bring to the appointment?
Please bring the shoes you plan to wear with your gown or something with a similar heel height, along with any specific undergarments you plan to wear with your gown (ie. spanx, strapless bra, slip, etc.)
How long will it take for the dress to be ready?
Most gowns take about 4-6 weeks on average to complete. The first fitting is typically around two months prior to the wedding date. This ensures that you are picking the gown up a at least two weeks before the event. This also gives enough time if additional alterations or adjustments need to be made.
What should I budget for alterations?
The alteration cost depends upon the types of alterations needed and the difficulty of each. Gowns with lace, beading, or complicated seams, will cost more than a dress with more simple lines and details. The average cost usually starts around $400. Any additional alterations after the first fitting will be charged appropriately.
